Initiation
Theta Upsilon held Initiation at Judson Manor on Sunday afternoon. We initiated 22 neophytes, and we were honored to have some very special guests from the sectional, regional, and national staff in attendance.
Our chapter completed over 2500 hours of service this semester. Nicole J. was recognized for completing over 300 hours of service in her time in APO.
We presented chapter awards for the semester:
Brother of the Semester: Jessica C.
Pledge of the Semester: Justin C.
TY Leadership Award: Shannon O. and Lehar K.
TY Fellowship Award: Nicole J.
TY Service Award: Corey W.
Certificates of Recognition: Jen H. and Raksha K.
We also awarded Theta Upsilon’s 13th Distinguished Service Key to alumnus Colin Milne.
The Boehms won Family Olympics, and we finished with a Theta Upsilon tradition, Brother to Brother.
After Initiation, many of the brothers, both new and old, headed over to Mint Café for Initiation Dinner. Everyone had a great time!
A new chapter semester...
The new chapter semester began on Monday with Membership Review.
Shannon O. and Todd S. were recognized for having perfect attendance at chapter for the previous chapter semester. They got Godiva chocolate for being awesome.
The picture of the gavel ransom won picture of the semester, and Nicole J. won the coveted gift card to the Cheesecake Factory. Jessica C. and Jon N. won a place in our first blog post. :)

After officer reports, we had a pizza party to celebrate the success of the Region V Conference that Theta Upsilon hosted this previous weekend.
Membership Review was quick and painless, and resulted in our 21 pledges becoming neophytes. We are all really looking forward to initiation this Sunday!
Tuesday was our faculty luncheon in Adelbert College. We had food catered from Anthony’s that was absolutely delicious. Three faculty members were in attendance.
Our “Bring Your Own Buddy” (BYOB) event this semester is coming up this weekend on Saturday… we will be having a pizza party and then playing laser tag.
We’ll wrap up the week with Initiation on Sunday, followed by our traditional Initiation Dinner.
Next Monday at chapter we’ll be electing our new president, membership vice-president, service vice-president, fellowship vice-president, and pledge educator! Don’t miss it!
